Doris’ Obituary
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother in her home at Cape St Mary with her family by her side after a courageous and hard battle with cancer on Sunday, March 24th, 2024.
Doris was born on July 30th, 1932 to the late Walter and Levina (Theriault) Doucette. She leaves behind to cherish her in their memory her children, Edna (the late Wendell) White, Walter (Jackie), Donna (the late Murray) Gerein, John (Dana); siblings, Anna (Gerald) Aymar and Herbert (Louise); grandchildren, who knew Doris as “Nana”, Alana (Ian), Alicia (Willard) and Chad.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Vernon and Billy.
Doris put her heart and soul in all she did whether family or work related and was always ready to help anyone in need. She was devoted to her church and the Legion. She liked to knit and if you needed socks or mittens, there was always some ready to go.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meteghan Funeral Home where visitations will be held Wednesday, March 27th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Christian Funeral Celebration officiated by Rev. Hospice Akoffodji, assisted by Rev. Wieslaw Papuga will be held in St. Alphonse Church on Thursday at 3 p.m. followed by burial in the parish cemetery. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
Donations in memory of Doris may be made to St. Alphonse Church Fund.
