Donna Marie (McDonald) Steeves
1951-2024
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Donna
Marie Steeves, 73, of Riverview formerly of Riverside-Albert on
September 24, 2024 with her daughter by her
side.
She was born in Nova Scotia on June 7th, 1951 the daughter
of the late Joseph Basil and Annabelle (Ryan)
McDonald.
Donna had several jobs over the years but last worked as a
caregiver for Eleanor Duffy who became like family to her
and Donna thoroughly enjoyed taking care
of others. She was a member of the Holy Ghost Catholic
Church. She had a green thumb and had plants
everywhere in her home. She enjoyed the simple things in
life and wasn’t materialistic, all she needed was a roof over her
head, food to eat and her family and friends by her side.
She had great times with Vivian and Barb. They had lots of laughs
together. She took great comfort in spending time with
Tammy, Paul and Anna and she was so thankful for all the love and
support they gave her.
«Always remember you are braver than you
know, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think and
loved more that you will ever know.»
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Tammy Dixon
(Paul) of Cumberland Bay; her granddaughter Anna Dixon (Gary
Cardoso Linhares) of NWT, brother, Bernie McDonald of
Moncton; her best friends, Vivian Dixon and Barbara Haire; and her
caring neighbour, Louise Tracy.
She also leaves behind her son Todd Steeves (Jill) of
Riverside-Albert; granddaughters, Natasha (Josh), Shannon (Caleb) and
Emily (Zack) and great grandchildren, Kaydence, Audrey, Veronica,
Vincent and Branson; siblings, Jimmy McDonald (Claudette), Shirley
McDonald, Pabby Woodworth (Carl) and Carmel Benoit (Joey) all of Nova
Scotia; and by all her late husband Wayne’s family.
Besides her parents, Annabelle (Ryan) McDonald and Joseph
Basil McDonald and step-mother Mary Alice (Andrew) McDonald she was
predeceased by her beloved husband, Wayne Steeves in
2013.
There will be a Memorial Service and Celebration of her
Life at the Albert County Funeral Home on Thursday, October 3rd, 2024
at 2:00pm with her friend Barbara Haire
officiating. There will be a time of visitation one hour
prior to the service from 1:00pm until 2:00pm for people who wish to
come and spend time reminiscing with family and friends.
Following the service there will be a time for further fellowship and
refreshments. The interment will be in the Holy Ghost
Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Dr. Georges
L-Dumont Hospital for the exceptional care given and kindness shown
during this difficult time. It will never be
forgotten.
In lieu of flowers just be the reason someone
smiles and make the world a better place in Donna’s memory by
expressing an act of kindness.
Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral
Home, 4130 Route 114, Hopewell Cape, NB, E4H-3K2 506
