Donna Mae Evans Obituary
With great sadness we announce the passing of dear mom of 85 years. She passed away peacefully with family by her side.
Donna was born and raised at Kew, west of Millarville, attending Sheep River School. After graduation, Donna attended Mount Royal College where she took schooling to become a Dental assistant and worked in Calgary for the following year.
November 1, 1958, she married David Evans. Together they had 3 boys, Don, Daryl and Cam. They ran the family ranch west of Millarville, which consisted of a pure-bred Herford cattle herd, then pure-bred Charolais cattle. They also raised pure-bred Appaloosa horses that won many awards over the years. Donna and David both drove school bus for the Foothills School Division for over 30 years, retiring in 1993.
Donna enjoyed sewing, visiting with friends and helping with her grand children. She was an avid volunteer with the Millarville Ag Society for many years and was also involved with the Happy Gang and WI, which brought her much joy.
Donna is survived by her husband David Evans, married for 65 years, brother Dennis Hanson; children, Don Evans (Pat), Daryl Evans (Bev) and Cam Evans; Grandchildren Elwyn Evans, Terra-Dawn Allison (Kristen), Calvin Evans (Daniella), Colton Evans and Kyle Evans; Great-Grandchildren, Karliegh Bester, Riley Lyons, Lincoln and Emmie Allison, Sebastian, Christopher and Benedict Evans and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Donna was predeceased by her parents, Harley and Joanna Hanson and sister Marlene Pearse.
A Celebration of life for Donna will be held at Millarville Race Track Ranchers Hall, Sunday June 16, 2024 from 1 p.m.- 5 p.m.
