It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to Donna Lee Stabel (nee Miller). At the age of 72 after a long battle with cancer, she was recently diagnosed with COVID and pneumonia and passed away on May 18th, 2023, at the Comox Valley Hospital, with her loving husband by her side. Donna will be remembered by her husband of 47 years Otto, her children Tyson (Stacey), Aaron and Dane, brother Richard (Linda), grandchildren Grady and Morgan, nieces Leah and Denise, nephews Russel, David and Scott, brothers-in-law Ewald Stabel (Ilse) and Otto Schaaf. Donna Lee was predeceased by her parents Vera Jean Miller (nee Campbell), and Albert Grant Miller, her uncle Lindsay Campbell (Morag) and sister Lana Miller. Donna Lee was born in Cornwall, Ontario, April 6th, 1951, moved West as a teenager and lived in Port Alberni, Vancouver, and Red Deer. Eventually she settled in Yellowknife NT where she met her husband Otto in 1974. They married December 20th, 1975, raised three boys, and retired in Aug 1995 to the Comox Valley. Donna Lee enjoyed gardening, berry picking and crocheting, and loved her pets Mikey, Milo, Rosie, and Toby. She will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Thank you for all the care from the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Comox Valley Hospital.
There will be no service at this time, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
