In loving memory of Donna Jane Gravelle who passed away peacefully in her 77th year the morning of January 5, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, after a lengthy battle with kidney disease. Donna was an incredible educator – both to her students and adult learners. She was very proud of participating in various healthcare studies, providing researchers with new insights. She had a passion for cooking and baking and her recipes will live on in the hearts of her family.
Beloved wife and soul mate of Gerard “Gerry” Gravelle (pre-deceased) of Chelmsford. Loving mother of Pierre (wife Kim) of Hamilton, and Gerri-Lee (Michelle) of Sudbury. Proud Mémère of Abigayle and Julia. Dear daughter of the late Thomas “Bud” and Theresa Huffman. Dear sister of Janis Huffman of St. Catharines, L. Lynne Huffman of Sudbury, Roxan Pelletier (Marc) of Chelmsford, and T. James “Jim” Huffman (Lynne), both pre-deceased. Dear sister-in-law of Mignonne “Mitch” Lauzon (Denis) of Azilda, Claude Gravelle (Marie-Claire) of Chelmsford, Vivienne Gowan (Robert) of Chelmsford and Jean Gravelle of Ottawa. Loving aunt to Lynn and Daniel Lauzon, Angela (Goddaughter), Trevor and Tisha Gowan, Mike Gravelle and Johanne Martinez and Steven (Godson), Clinton and Jonathan Pelletier.
The Gravelle family would like to thank PSWs Sharon and June for their care and compassion. We would also like to thank the nephrology teams at Health Sciences North in Sudbury and St. Joseph’s Healthcare in Hamilton for their expert care and support.
In accordance with Donna’s wishes, a private interment will take place in Chelmsford in the spring, with prayers, followed by a celebration of life in Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dialysis Program through the St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation, would be greatly appreciated.
