Donna passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, into the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, June 27, 2024 in her 85th year.
She will be missed by Edwin, her devoted husband of 64 years, her four children John Frede (Ginnie), Patti Hahn (Steve), Lesa Martin (Rick), and David Frede (Young Sun), her seven grandchildren, Aaron (Lisa), Kendra (Mike), Josh, Leah (Regan), Kelsey, Evan (Tessa), and Liam, and her five great-grandchildren, Owen, Emery, Spencer, Roman, and Aletheia.
Donna is reunited in Heaven with her parents John and Dorothy Ducklow, dear sister Nancy Smith, and great-granddaughter Schyler Lavallee.
She will also be fondly remembered by her extended family, friends, neighbours, and church family.
Donna was a very social woman and had many different interests including reading, cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays, playing cards and board games, and loved nothing more than finding a good bargain. She cared passionately for her family, had a charitable giving heart, had a very deep and personal relationship with the Lord, and modelled unconditional love and grace.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 4, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Woodside Bible Fellowship, 200 Barnswallow Dr., Elmira, with reception to follow. The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person. The link will be posted at the top of Donna’s tribute page when available.
In her memory, donations can be made to the B.C. Children’s Hospital (secure.bcchf.ca) or St. Mary’s General Hospital.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support they have received during this unexpected and difficult time.
