HUTCHINSON, Donald Laverne
1943 – 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Donald, on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Rideaucrest Home, with family by his side.
Donald, loving husband of Margaret for 59 years. Proud father of Gordon (Joanne), Brian and Debbie (Doug Joannette) and grandfather of Tyler and Luke Hutchinson. He will be sadly missed by his dear cousin Carl Samson (Sylvia), brothers-in-law John Jarvis (Nadine), and Peter Jarvis (Noreen) as well as his many colleagues and friends.
Donald was so very proud of his career with Correctional Service of Canada, working for over 32 years and retiring as an Assistant Warden. He lived a very active life and was an avid golfer, curler, hunter and fisherman. He was respected and loved by all those who worked with him, his friends and his family.
A heartfelt thank you is expressed to the amazing staff on the 4th floor of Rideaucrest for the kind and loving care that Donald received.
In keeping with Donald’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 2:30 – 4:30 pm, at the James Reid Funeral Home, Celebration Center (1900 John Counter Blvd., entering from the rear parking lot doors). For those who wish, donations may be made to the Kingston Humane Society, or the Partners in Mission Food Bank in Donald’s memory.
