Don Hotson, 95, of Mitchell passed away peacefully at Seaforth Community Hospital on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
Beloved husband of Edna Hotson. Dear father of Kim Ruston and Cheryl Matheson (Rick). Dear father-in-law of Casey Van Nynatten (Val). Loving grandfather of Tim (Rebecca), Nathan (Layla), Rebecca (Pierce); Ashley, Erin (Tyler); Devin (Amanda), Eric (Alysia) and Braden (Katie). Cherished great grandfather of Nolan, Elena, Eliza, Clara, Carter, Cameron, Milo, Ashton, Beau and Nash. Dear brother of Lillian Marziali and Bessie Thompson. Dear brother-in-law of Ron Patterson, Keith Patterson (Janet) and Janice Davey (Bob). Also surviving are his nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his son Wayne (2009), daughter Donna Van Nynatten (2010), great granddaughter Sophie Ruston (2014), parents Nicol and Tena Hotson, sisters Mary Kellestine (Web) and Grace Sparks (John), brothers-in-law Vernon Thompson and Volly Marziali and sister-in-law Pat Patterson.
A celebration of Don’s life will take place at the Lockhart Recepton Centre, 116 Montreal St., Mitchell on Tuesday, September 24 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 128, Mitchell, Optimist Club of Mitchell or Seaforth Community Hospital would be appreciated.
