DONALD FRANK MUNDY, born September 12, 1952, loving son of the late Jessie (née Robertson) and Frank Mundy and devoted husband to Lynn (Hardy), passed away suddenly on June 9, 2024. He entered into rest at his property in Haliburton, which was his favourite place in the world with his beloved German Shepherd by his side. Don leaves behind his wife and two children, Britton (Malcolm) and Kent (Lindsey), and grandchildren McKinley, Jaelynn, Shea and Walker as well as his sisters Barb, Margie, Fran, Jan, and Cathie.
Don was charismatic, loved people and always had a joke ready. This personality led him to working much of his career in sales where he would inevitably expand his circle of friends even wider.
He and Lynn met in Lindsay and quickly realized that they found something special in each other. They created a family that they enriched with time at the family cottage, camping trips and time spent with extended family, while working and being positive role models for their children. They continue to enjoy these activities with their kids and friends and are always included as an integral part of the group. They created strong roots, which is apparent by all of the people that surround them, demonstrating that family isn’t always blood, but love and friendship. Don will always be remembered for his generosity and outgoing nature and his passing will be felt by all that knew him.
A funeral service will be held at Mackey Funeral Home on Monday, June 17th at 1:00 following cremation with a light reception to follow at the same location.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice, be made in his memory.
