For 86 years, Dolores was a woman who could have danced all night. Prolific dancer at the Bartlett Studios, Dolores Marie Murphy of Windsor ON, died at The Hospice of Windsor and Es County on November 4, 2023 surrounded by her three children. Predeceased by her eldest son Brian, her loving husband of 55 years, Terence Murphy, her parents, Wilfred and Laurette (Boussey), and her in-laws Philip and Anne (Murphy).
We the children: Greg (Mirella Ruso), Colleen (Joe Kuerzi), and Maureen (Bob Peirce) remain thankful for her strength and honesty. Missing her stories are her grandchildren, Tarik (Beth), Tara (Sebastian), Sean, Brendan, Lauren (John), and Kerri. Beloved Great-Grandmother to Ophelia and Tarik.
She had many beloved friends, especially Shirley Markham, her close neighbors and school chaperone friend Jenny Sabina, to the church coffee group and Sears lunch ladies, who already sorely miss her company.
A strong and fiercely independent woman, Dolores leaves a legacy of courage and confidence. A world traveler at heart, she and Terry joyfully spent the first half of their lives together travelling with and inspiring hundreds of young adults from the Scarlet Brigade Marching Band. They then spent the last twenty years seeing the world on many spectacular cruises.
For decades, Dolores was the backbone of her home, band, and church communities. Corpus Christi will be forever thankful for her loyalty and dedication as a Eucharistic minister. She was also a treasured volunteer at The Hospice, where she spent her final days.
Her memory would be best honoured by giving generously to The Hospice of Windsor and Es County.
Visitation Sunday 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Prayers Sunday at 4:30pm at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841. On Monday, family and friends are invited to meet at Corpus Christi Church (1400 Cabana Rd. W.) for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am.
