Dieter Jurgen Blum Obituary
In memory of Dieter Jurgen Blum
Dieter was born in Germany on June 26, 1939. He resided at Allendale Long Term Care Home
and passed away on February 26, 2024
Dieter emigrated to Canada on April 23, 1959. He came to Ontario and started working
in the construction industry. He was a member of the Ironworkers Union and this year
celebrated 60 years in the Union. He retired as an ironworker in 1999 and worked for
over 10 years at Home Depot.
Dieter was a kind and gentle man with a big heart and loved animals, sailing, soccer and
music, especially Jimmy Buffett. He will be greatly missed and forever in the hearts of
those who love him.
Dieter is survived by his wife Shelley Moorhead; his daughter Sonia Nelson; his
daughter Tanya Crawford and her husband Iain Crawford and his beloved
granddaughter Rylie Crawford; his stepson Craig Moorhead; his sister Ute Peters and
her husband Jerry Peters; and his cousin Christl in Germany.
He is pre-deceased by his brother Udo Seidemann.
The family would like to thank the staff at Allendale Long Term Care Home for the
wonderful care they provided to our beloved Dieter.
There will be a Mass in his honour at 11:00 a.m on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Holy Rosary Church,
139 Martin Street, Milton .
Donations in memory of Dieter would be appreciated by the family to the Alzheimer’s Society.
