Obituary
Dianne Thur (Quennell) May 7 1938 – June 7, 2023
Dianne passed away peacefully on June 7th in Huntsville, Ontario. Dianne was born May 7th, 1938 to Albert and Margaret Quennell. She is predeceased by her brother Howard Quennell. Dianne is survived by her husband of 60 years, Walter Thur and her children Craig (Hayley) , Gayle Brennan (Pat) and Colin (Christine) and her grandchildren, Taylor, Cody, Denver, Abby and Aubree. Her family will cherish the many wonderful memories and will always remember her incredible spirit.
Dianne raised her family in Elmira and Muskoka, Ontario. Once the nest was empty, she followed her heart to her beloved lakeside home in Muskoka where her family gathered for many summers. She had the privilege of watching her grandchildren learn to fish, canoe, swim, build campfires and master the art of the perfect s’more.
Dianne loved to travel and the family often joked that she kept a suitcase packed under her bed, always ready for the next adventure. An avid reader, she enjoyed many hours in her reading nook with the serene backdrop of her flower gardens and the lake she loved. It was not unusual to see Dianne and her faithful 4 legged pal, Bucky, walking along the cottage road picking wild raspberries and blueberries. A very special thank you to Angie Brush and Tabitha Guthro for the compassionate and wonderful care they provided Dianne for the past year.
Cremation has taken place and a family memorial will take place at a later time. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favourite charity in Dianne’s name.
