On August 9th 2023, Diane peacefully passed away at the age of 82, surrounded by her children and family. Diane is predeceased by her loving husband Herb and her oldest son Karl. She is survived by her three children and twelve grandchildren; Michael (Teresa), Karen (Matthew), Douglas (Jennifer), Bryn, Cole, Lauren, Hannah, Calen, Grady, Nicholas, Ella, Graham, Alexander, Simon and Olive. She also leaves behind her siblings; Doug (Kim), Claire (Dave) and Elaine (Mel) and many nieces and nephews. Diane spent her early years being a full time mom to a busy family and then returned to her long and meaningful career as an educator. She was a classroom teacher, consultant and vice principal. In her retirement she continued to share her love for education by working as an instructor in many teacher training programs. Diane was passionate about making an impact in the lives of young learners and worked to share this passion with those she instructed. Diane was also an avid reader and knitter and could often be found with either a pair of knitting needles or a book in her hand. Diane took immense pride in her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them, and sharing their accomplishments with others. Diane was an active member of the congregation at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church, and a life deacon. She made it her mission each Sunday to connect with at least one new person she saw and welcome them to the church. In the last few years, Diane also took pleasure in knitting prayer squares in hopes of giving comfort to others in their time of need. Thanks are due to the wonderful staff from Selectacare who cared tirelessly for Diane in her final weeks and brought comfort to both her and her family. A celebration of life will be held at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church 1585 Yonge Street on Saturday, August 26th at 10:00am. The service will be live-streamed at www.yorkminsterpark.com/memorial/DianeLetsche/ . In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Yorkminster Park Baptist Church. Diane will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
