We are sad to announce the passing of Diane Joyce Burton of Richmond Hill. Diane passed away at the age of 82 on Friday June 9th, 2023 after a lengthy illness. She will be greatly missed by her sisters Sylvia Burton and Dorothy O’Brien, her nieces Diana O’Brien and Karen O’Brien, and god children Corinne, April and Robyn. She was predeceased by her loving parents Herbert ‘Bert’ and Eva Burton. Diane was born in Kenora, Ontario and enjoyed a long career as a nurse after graduating from nursing school in 1964. She worked in many hospitals in the Thunder Bay and Toronto areas. She was an active and longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi holding several positions and building life long friendships.
Diane was an active member at St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church and volunteered at the Marianne Seniors Home.
Diane was an animal lover and had many beloved pets including Pebbles, Coco and Brandy.
Diane will be greatly missed for her sense of humour and concern for others.”
Visitation will be held at MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill, on Monday June 12, 2023, at 12 noon, followed by a service in the chapel at 1 p.m. Private family interment.
