LARSEN, Derek “Big D”
August 20, 1969 – November 5, 2024
Derek Larsen was from the wolf clan of the Tahltan Territory. He has picked up his golden moccasins to join his ancestors in the spirit world on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the age of 55 years.
Big D will be forever remembered and loved by his partner of 28 years: Helana Preston; 5 children: Cole Larsen of Bonnyville, Colton Preston of Bonnyville, Tanisha Preston of Medicine Hat, Derrick Preston (Kristina O’Connor) of Edmonton, Katrina Preston (Kenneth Saunders) of Edmonton; 5 grandchildren: Dakota Preston, Landon Lynch, Anneliese Marshall, Aalliyah Preston, Erica White; uncle: Billy Larsen of Terrace, BC; niece: Nancy; 3 nephews: Tyler, Clinton, Stephen; as well as numerous extended relatives and many friends.
Big D was predeceased by his parents: Nancy Larsen & George Gurel; brother: Trevor Larsen; sister: Heather Hall; grandmother: Kitty Larsen; great grandmother: Emma Brown.
Funeral service, Friday, November 8, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., Northern Lights Funeral Chapel, Bonnyville, Alberta.
Pallbearers: Jamie Tough, Geneo Pidoborozny, Shane Dierkhising, Dakota Preston, Derrick Preston, Colton Preston.
