Della Mae Chandler – Our precious mother, age 86, of Mascot, TN went to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 5, 2023. Mom, a charter member of Rutledge Pike Baptist, served the Lord with joy and gladness and had a passion for attending church. She treasured being a mother, grandmother, and playing with great grandchildren. She taught us the ways of Christ. III John 1:4 “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” She enjoyed family gatherings, cooking, gardening, camping, fishing, and beach trips. And….she had a “burning passion” for her Ashley wood stove and gathering wood.
Preceded in death by the love of her life of almost 50 years, William Glenn Chandler; parents, James “Wesley” and Ruby Mae Hayes; grandson, Elijah Harrell; and son-in-law, “Bill” Martin.
Survived by cherished children, Kathy (Ray) Moody, Teresa (Buddy) Harrell, Vicki (William) Underwood, Daryl (Lorie) Chandler, Tony (Robyn) Chandler, and Tonya Martin; adored grandchildren, Amber (Brandon) Brooks, Chandra Campbell, Autumn (Ben) Potter, Rachel (David) Livingston, Daima (Mark) Hines, Olivia Martin (Noah Gardner), Elisha Martin (Tatiana Bowling), Madison (Bryce) Sutton, MaKenzie Moody, Leva (Josh) Turley, Bryson Chandler, Mason Chandler; precious great grandchildren, Paxton and Hadley Brooks, Raylee and Chandler Livingston, Karina Campbell, Elijah Potter; brother, Floyd (Iva) Hayes; also lovingly survived by the Hayes and Chandler family members and her church family! You were so loved Mom and Mamaw Della!
Receiving of friends will take place at Rutledge Pike Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm with the service at 7:00 pm officiated by Rev. Dustyn Copeland and Rev. Bob Zavattieri. Graveside service will be at Rutledge Pike Cemetery on Wednesday at 11:00 am. Pallbearers: Elisha Martin, Bryson Chandler, Mason Chandler, Brandon Brooks, David Livingston and Mark Hines. Honorary pallbearers: Ben Potter, Josh Turley, Bryce Sutton and Noah Gardner.
