Obituary of Deanna Alena Hertz
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Deanna Hertz of Strathmore, Alberta. Deanna passed away on July 20, 2023, at the South Health Campus at the age of 56 years, surrounded by her family.
Deanna is survived by her sons, Tyson and Corey (Gabby) Weis, her partner Reg Proudfoot, her parents Roy and Clarice Hertz, her sisters Anita Hertz, and Janice Styles, as well as her brothers Roy and Matthew Hertz. She will be deeply missed and loved by her granddaughter Ella.
Over her 30-year career as a legal assistant, Deanna worked with various law offices, most notably with Randal Jarvis Law Office. She will always cherish the positive way that she was able to affect the people that she worked with. She will always be remembered for her hard work and dedication to her career.
She will be remembered for her continuous dedication to the Lacrosse Associations that she supported, most recently the Calgary Mountaineers Junior “B” Lacrosse Association, not only on the field but off. She was always the biggest fan in the stands, supporting her boys in the love that they have for the sport of Lacrosse.
When Deanna wasn’t working or at lacrosse events, she enjoyed many things such as being with her friends, scrapbooking, reading her favorite novels, cross stitching, diamond dots, and traveling.
Many will always remember and keep the memories that they made with Deanna, such as her hugs, smiles, laughter, as well as her craziness that will always be felt in the hearts of the ones that she cared about.
A funeral service for Deanna will be held on Wednesday August 9, 2023, at Hope Covenant Church in Strathmore, Alberta at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Deanna’s family has requested that a donation be made in Deanna’s memory directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre at albertacancer.ca/donate
