Obituary of David Wilson
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David (Dave) Wilson, beloved husband of Louise Wilson, on October 10th, 2024. Dave passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Louise, his son Kevin (Sherry), and his daughter Julie Hunter (David). Dave also leaves behind his stepsons, Jeff Statham (Judy) and David Statham. He was a proud grandfather to his eight grandchildren: Katie (Brandon), Claire (Nick), Jacob, Shelby (Kyle), Dallas (Riley), Holly, Mitchell (Jeminah), and Abigail. His three great-grandchildren; Jessica, Elena, and Melanie, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. He also leaves behind his brother Darrell Wilson. He was predeceased by his parents Norm and Eunice Wilson and by his sister June.
Dave’s love of cars was a lifelong passion. He worked as a mechanic and owned his own garage in his hometown of Brooklin for many years. Dave and Louise participated in many car tours with the Antique and Classic Car Club of Canada, where they made treasured memories and friendships. His expertise and dedication to cars extended to providing vehicles for movie sets, allowing him to live his passion in unique and creative ways.
Beyond his love for cars, Dave was deeply dedicated to helping others within the AA community, where he was a source of strength, support, and compassion for many.
His heart was larger than life, and his kindness touched countless lives. Dave’s legacy of love, generosity, and friendship will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have known him.
A private family service will be held to honor Dave’s memory. Following the private service, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Solina Community Hall, 6-1964 Concession Rd, Hampton ON L0B1J0 on Monday, October 21, 2024 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his name to a charity of choice.
