Obituary of David H. Daigle
DAIGLE DAVID H. – Unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, February 22nd, 2024; David Harold Daigle, husband of Carrie (Legacy) Daigle. Born in Digby, NS; he is the son of the late Earle Lockhart & Mary Opal Nielson.
Surviving in addition to his wife Carrie are his children Tabatha Daigle (Tammy), Tiffaney Daigle (Kathryn), Jarret Daigle (Sarah), grandchildren Elizabeth, Prestin, Vallery, Gavin & Charlotte and step daughter Maria (Kyle) Summer, Solara, Aubree & Skyree and of course his beloved dog Charlie.
David loved all of his grandchildren very much and taught them all a very special handshake for each time they said goodbye.
David is also survived by two brothers Eric Neilson, James Nielson (Nancy), four sisters Jean Graves (Noel), Linda Graves (Jim), Betty McCurdy, Kathy Moore (Larry). He is also predeceased by his sister Doreen Achorn (Floyd).
David worked for Arauco (Flakeboard) Ltd in St. Stephen, NB for many years. David loved outdoor activities in his life such especially fishing and pond hockey when he was younger.
In loving memory of David he would want you to know he proudly completed 17 years of sobriety by being part of and supported by a group of AA people that were spirited with the same strength of mind & determination, all with the goal to be a stronger & better person than they were the day before. This transformed his life through dedication and resilience. He cherished sharing stories with loved ones and was known for having long chats about many topics.
He was a devoted Montreal Canadians fan since childhood and could often be found cheering or cursing them depending on the game.
David leaves behind a legacy of perseverance and love that will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
By David’s request cremation will take place followed by a memorial service in celebration of his life to be held on Wednesday, February 28th at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB e3L 2B2 (506 – 466 – 3110)
