It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of the amazing and courageous David Stanley Weeks, on November 20, 2023. He was born July 15, 1967 and was 56. Due to sudden compounding complications of possible infections and pneumonia, he had difficulty breathing and required extensive CPR. David was a grand fighter, but this time was too much. The family wishes to thank the Red Deer Hospital staff for all of their efforts, and the many terrific loving staff members at Michener Services where David lived a comfortable and satisfying life for the past 50 years.
David will be well remembered for his many smiles, laughs, his sweet, strong and brave personality. He enjoyed visiting, taking walks, car and bus rides even more, camping and many adventures in the outdoors at all kinds of destinations throughout Alberta. He also loved his food, drink and candy.
David leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother Lorraine Weeks, sister Sandra Weeks (Roger Ficko), nephew James Phillips and his half-sister Sarah Phillips, his aunts, cousins, and several family-like staff and roommates at Michener Services. David was predeceased by his father Stanley Weeks, his best friend Jerome, both just by a few months.
A service and celebration of David’s life will take place on Friday December 1 from 4-9 pm at the Centre of Spiritual Living Edm South at 7621-101 Ave.
Another service will follow the next week or two in Red Deer at Michener Services TBA.
If so inclined on flowers, it would be appreciated to bring them to the Dec 1 service for all there to enjoy.
