Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Murray Reynolds on September 29, 2023. Born on March 29, 1946, David’s life was one of love, commitment, and humour. He leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Shelley, his amazing children, Scott , Sara (Glenn), and Paul (Jessy), along with his siblings Steve and Brenda. His first love and foremost priority in life was his family, a legacy that will continue to live on through his cherished grandchildren, Eli, Cameron, Sadie, Natalie, and Adeline.
A lifelong educator, Dave was deeply committed to his community in Trenton, ON, where he served as the Principal of Trenton High School, as well as in several schools in Belleville. Even after retirement, Dave continued to be involved in the lives of students as a coach and referee for high school sports. Dave had a passion for sports that lasted a lifetime. Whether it was playing hockey multiple times a week into his late sixties or completing marathons, his enthusiasm for physical activity never waned.
Known for his sense of humour and enthusiasm, Dave took his work and family very seriously but never himself. He was a man who knew the importance of laughter, keeping a picture of the Three Stooges in his office as a light-hearted reminder. Dave also had an unwavering love for Bob Dylan’s music and could often be heard quoting or singing Dylan lyrics in his daily conversations, subjecting anyone within earshot to impromptu Dylan serenades, whether they appreciated it or not.
A visitation will be held for Dave at Weaver Family Funeral Home East Chapel 29 Bay Street, Trenton on Saturday October 7th from 1:00PM to 5:00PM
