David Luckett Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of David Luckett announces his sudden passing on November 10, 2024, at the age of 76.
David was born on November 2, 1948, in Nottingham, England to William and Edna Luckett (nee Kirkwood). He is predeceased by his parents and his older sister Barbara Rogerson. He leaves behind Mary, his wife of 35 years, their children: Heather Tait (Jamie), Elizabeth Proulx (Kevin), Martin, Beth Johnston, Frances Bartoch (Rich). His beautiful grandchildren Hayden, Christopher, Owen, Heidi, Mireya, Sidney, Cooper, Taylor and Emmitt. He also leaves behind his brother Pete (Susie), his sister Kate Lander (Geoff), and several nieces and nephews.
David immigrated to Canada on May 13, 1985, with his family, to start a new life working alongside of his brother Pete. He was a businessman through and through. He owned several businesses including Pete’s Frootique in Saint John, Miracle Produce, Lord’s Lobster, and was past president of the Saint John Executive Association.
Mary and David loved to travel the globe and had many wonderful adventures together. But his favourite place in the world was at the cottage, on the Washademoak Lake, reading his kindle with a cup of tea. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who took immense pride in his family. His grandchildren brought tremendous joy to his life. The stories of what they were up to always brought a sparkle to his eye.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, and terrible groaner jokes which he always exclaimed were » a cracker»!
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with visitation being held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, between the hours of 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, November 15, 2024, between 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. The Celebration of Life will follow in the Fundy Chapel.
