David’s Obituary
David Allen Gamble – 70, Tatamagouche, passed away May 18, 2023 surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Truro, he was the only son of the late Ronald and Elsie (Lynds) Gamble.
Dad worked most of his life in car sales and in later years dealt in auto parts both in the Truro area. He had a keen appreciation of antique cars and shared his knowledge and enthusiasm with like minded people of all ages.
After vacationing in Tatamagouche for many years, he fell in love with the community – especially its people and all that it had to offer. So, in 1989, he made it his home. He always tried to support and encourage local talent and businesses.
After his retirement, he made himself available to friends and family should they needed a driver or some sewing project completed. His love of music was evident. He played in a band for awhile but any reason to bring out his guitar was welcome. He loved to host a jam session or kitchen party whenever there was an opportunity. He was a terrific cook as well, whether it was a holiday dinner for family or a lobster boil for friends. He was a people person and enjoyed the company of all. His hope is that you would remember those times fondly.
Dad’s greatest love was his family and friends. His caring and intuitive nature created lasting bonds with so many. His chosen brothers, Ross and Jeff, Miss Kerry and the Lepper family to name a few. His love was unconditional and free.
He is survived by his only child, Jillian; grandchildren, Samantha Murray, Alexandria Murray and David Murray; four great grandchildren, Elias, Aubree, Sophia and Cohen; sisters, Valarie (Vernon) Sibley, Kathryn Gamble, Sylvia Gamble (Robert), Holly Eldridge; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Rhonda Bissett; brother-in-law, Darrell Eldridge.
A Celebration of Life will be held June 10 at 2pm in Tatamagouche Legion Br. 64. If so desired, donations may be made to the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital.
Arrangements are under the direction of Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche.
