It is with broken hearts that the family of David
A Hovey announce his passing at the Charlotte County Hospital on
Wednesday August 9, 2023.
Dave was the youngest child of the late Murray
and Annie (Anderson) Hovey of Old Ridge.
He worked in construction for a few years locally
before moving for a short time to Iqaluit and from there to Calgary
where he ran his own business for many years. Upon returning home his
career was cut short by an injury that made it impossible to
continue.
Dave loved sports and played soccer and softball
for many years. He enjoyed nothing more than getting to together with
friends to discuss the game and relive the glory
days.
Dave leaves behind four brothers, Neil of Old
Ridge, Carl (Sue) of Old Ridge, Gordon (Janet) of St. Stephen, Mark
(Connie) Valley Road, two sisters, Lynn (Don Duguay) of Old Ridge and
Kathy (Greg Farrell) of Little Ridge. He is also survived by Aunt
Carole (Jack Cunningham) of Fredericton, several cousins, nieces,
nephews and friends.
There will be a celebration of his life at the
Oak Hill Hall on Saturday August 19, 2023 at 2
pm.
Interment at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Oak Hill, New
Brunswick.
Donations in his memory may be made to the
charity of your choice.
