Dario Bercilla Roxas Obituary
Mr. Dario Roxas, 77 years old, resident of Rosebridge Manor in Jasper, Ontario, passed away peacefully on May 15 2024. He is survived by his loving wife Yolanda and three adult children: Rowena Orok (Bruce) of Athens ON, Noel Roxas (Cherry) of Keswick ON and Michael (Grace) of Brampton ON. There are six surviving grandchildren: grandsons Shayne Orok (Ali), Chester Roxas (Jezzelle), Justin Orok, Neil Roxas, Joaquin Roxas and Enzo Roxas. Dario is also survived by his brother Raul Roxas, sister-in-law Chona, nephews and nieces Paul, Carlo, AR, Kenneth, Lala, CJ, Crisella and Katrina.
Dario is predeceased by his beloved parents Carlos and Elena Roxas and sister Lorna Lingao. Born in Lipa City Philippines, Dario spent the majority of his career with the Philippine Bureau of Internal Revenue until he moved to Canada in 1995. He spent another 13 years working in manufacturing in Toronto before retiring in 2008. Dario and Yolanda were married 56 years.
Dario loved playing the piano and singing. He used to spend countless Saturday mornings playing classics and popular tunes by ear. Shortly after moving to Canada, fishing became his favourite hobby. If he was not out fishing, he was getting his fishing gear organized while on the lookout for good deals on fishing rods, reels and lures. Raising and tending to his aquarium and tropical fish kept him busy during the winter months.
Dario loved his family and kept a small circle of very close friends. Making sure everyone was well cared for was his lifelong calling. He adored all his grandchildren and spent a good part of his day spending time with them or following their adventures. He loved talking to people and communicated with everyone, near and far.
Arrangements entrusted to Lannin Funeral Home. Cremation will take place. A celebration in honour of Dario’s life will be held in Toronto where Dario spent most of his life in Canada: June 1 2024 at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes 6191 Yonge St., Toronto ON M2M 4K4.
