Obituary For Daniel Lyle Penson
March 5th, 1961 – October 21, 2024
Daniel Lyle Penson of Royston, British Columbia, formerly of Grovedale, Alberta, passed away in Comox, British Columbia after a long fight against cancer at the age of 63.
Dan is survived by his children, Amy (Chris) Richards and Aaron (Jane) Penson, his grandkids Rya & Jack Penson and Sebastian Richards, his spouse Susan Taylor and her daughters Shea & Haley Taylor, his first wife Shelagh (Walter) Perez, his sisters Joanne Penson-Boucher (Gene Ozon) and Charlene (Ross) Kusch, his brother Russell (Shelley) Penson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, Lyle & Josephine Penson.
We are going to miss our long phone calls with dad, where we caught up on his many adventures and renovation projects, and where we sought his guidance and advice on parenting young kids, navigating our careers and busy lives. He welcomed the chaos of our young families to visit often, and we so appreciated being a part of the life he and Sue built in the Comox Valley.
Dad was known for his love of a good time. Whether it was getting up early for work or staying late to enjoy a party, he often found himself seeing the sunrise. He made friends easily and kept them for life.

An open house gathering of friends and family will be held at Bear Creek Funeral Home (11802 99 Ave) from 1 to 4 pm on Sunday, November 17, 2024. Join us to share a drink and memories of good times with dad.
