In loving memory of Dan, who passed away peacefully on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Health Sciences North at the age of 75. Born in Sudbury, he was an alumnus of Copper Cliff High School and Laurentian University. After graduation, he went on to work at Vale (INCO) until retirement.
Dan was the beloved son of Vilho and Eileen Arkilander (both predeceased), brother of Alan (Joan), Bruce (predeceased, 1996) (Maria), Susan, and Michael (Nathalie). Sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Dan loved Brittany Spaniels and will now be happily reunited with Baron, Kramer, and Rourke. He was someone who volunteered at many community events. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting with his dog, and fishing. He was a member of numerous curling teams over the years and appreciated fine food, a good cup of coffee as well as a single malt scotch.
A Celebration of Life will take place at the Idylwylde Golf and Country Club on Sunday, February 19, 2 – 4 pm. Memorial donations to the Northeast Cancer Centre or Health Sciences North would be appreciated.
