Ranich, Daniel Anthony (1955-2023)
It is with broken hearts that the family of Daniel «Dan» Ranich announces his passing on Sunday April 2nd 2023, at Health Sciences North with his family by his side. Loving husband of 42 years to Elizabeth Ranich. Devoted father to Jake (Zorisa) and Amber (Mike). Proud GrandDan to his precious grandchildren Marcus and Mila. Predeceased by his parents Stephen and Christine (née Wetow) and in-laws Michael and Josephine Head. Sadly missed by his siblings William (Bonnie), Patricia predeceased, Steven (Miriam) and Christine (Carl Hurst). He will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends.
In true Canadian fashion, Dan’s love for the outdoors was his passion. He was the proud owner and operator of Northern Trees for 40 years. He was also the ‘911 manager at Bell for 30 years. He spent a lot of his time out at his family camp in Noelville or hunting on St. Joes Island, but most importantly you could always find him preparing the most delicious meals in the kitchen. Dan told the best stories, was an avid hockey fan, and lived life to the fullest. He will be truly missed.
The family would like to thank the staff of Health Sciences North Emergency and Intensive Care departments for their compassionate care. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. A family celebration of life will take place at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, please make a toast to Dan’s memory. Arrangements entrusted to Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury.
