Dalton’s Obituary
Dalton Clair McIntyre of Wakefield passed away on November 18, 2024, at the age of 78.
Born in Woodstock New Brunswick, on February 28, 1946 to the late Clair and Effie McIntyre. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dorothy McIntyre, daughters Kim (Darren) Kenney, Sherry (Joe) Lawrence, son Allan McIntyre, his five grandchildren, Taylor (Daniel) Drieschner, Kristan Kenney (Anand), Cole Lawrence (Julianna), Josie Lawrence, Ryan McIntyre, chosen grandson Cole Stephenson, two great grandchildren, Gibson and Riggs Drieschner, sister Lilian Madge, and predeceased by his brother David McIntyre.
Dalton was a well known and loved person in the community and was always willing to lend a hand. If he wasn’t working, he could always be found in the shop. He was a long-time member of the Wakefield Community Cemetery and spent many years looking after it and mowing other lawns around the community. He spent many hours volunteering for Saint John Ambulance, where he broke countless records for the fastest transportation times between Carleton Memorial Hospital and other hospitals within the Maritimes. He loved being outdoors and feeding his ducks and always had a special place in his heart for his dogs.
Forever a family man, he always claimed he had a “million-dollar family” which he always put first and enjoyed every moment with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
As a young man, he enjoyed riding horses, racing, and spinning tires. Tractor pulling was a passion, which he shared with and passed on to his son, Allan.
Dalton worked hard his entire life and took pride in everything he did. Starting with working at the Woodstock Cedar Products and then driving for Purolator Courier through the week and trucking on the weekends. He then continued his career by owning landscaping companies from 1987 to 2013, while continuing to truck in his Peterbuilt. He kept busy before retirement by running heavy equipment, specifically the bulldozer for E. Cummings Contracting Inc, and maintained his name “Bulldozer Man”.
We would like to extend a special thanks to everyone who reached out and stopped in to support our family during this difficult time.
A public visitation will be held at Scott’s Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock on Saturday November 23, 2024 from 12 noon – 3 pm. The Funeral Service will begin at 3 pm.
Interment will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. www.scottfh.com
