It is with broken hearts, that we announce the sudden passing of Dakota Lee Hofmann. Born and raised in Kamloops, at the young age of 22, (04.11.2001-08.19.2023) he passed away due to a motorcycle collision.
Kota made many friends playing hockey, weightlifting, and driving his truck and motorbikes. In his short time, he was still able to achieve his dream career as a conductor with CN. Although if you looked at his phone you would have thought he was a photographer from the hundreds of photos of sunsets and his bike. You may have known him as Cleetus, Mort, DaCOVID, or our favorite Son, but more than his name, you knew him for always singing, dancing, and making you laugh. He lived in the moment and made those around him feel like they were all that mattered. Your happiness was his.
Dakota is survived by his immediate family Cindy (mom), Adrian (dad), Alyssa (sister), Skyler, and Jaiden along with many extended family members. He was predeceased by his “Papa” Bernie Hofmann, who will watch over him.

If you would like to join in on a ride for Dak before his Celebration of life, we will be starting at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, September 5th at TRU Parking Lot N. We then welcome family and friends to join us in reminiscing on his memories at his Celebration of Life held on Tuesday, September 5th at the North Shore Community Center (452-730 Cottonwood Ave) in the Dogwood Room from 6 pm to 10 pm.
