GOREHAM, Crowell Aubrey – It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and great-grandfather at home in Barrington Passage on March 29, 2023 at the age of 71. Crowell was born in Lower Woods Harbour on February 14, 1952 to Jacquita Walden (Fred) of Trent Balley Lodge, Ontario and the late Lawrence «Robert» Goreham. Crowell was a fisherman all of his life. He enjoyed a good fishing yarn with anyone on a daily basis. He loved to hear from everyone about their lobster catches, what they were using for bait and where they were setting their pots. He enjoyed time at the camp on the island with his brother Terry, and many other who joined them. While there, he enjoyed hunting, but enjoyed the grub, the card games and the yarns the most. He also really enjoyed the trips to Cape Breton going trout fishing. He was most happy with a house full of company. The most important thing to Crowell was his family. Crowell was such a kind, caring and happy man who would do anything for anyone. He is best known for his kindness, smile and laugh. He greatly enjoyed watching his grandson Layne play hockey as was so proud of him for all the effort he put into playing the game. After he retired from lobster fishing, he worked summers at Huskins Fisheries and enjoyed working with everyone there. Crowell will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was truly a wonderful person who didn’t have a bad thing to say about anyone. The family can’t recall ever seeing him mad at anyone for any reason. He wanted us to remember him with love and a smile. Crowell is survived by loving wife, Jackie (Nickerson); sons, Vernon Goreham (Michelle), Joey Goreham (Angie); step-daughter, Becky Crowell (Jamie); brother, Terry Goreham (Grace); sister, Paula Collette (Pete); grandchildren, Jessica, Ashley, Jerrica, Haley, Brittany, Jason, and Layne; 8 great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Jason. Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home in Barrington. In following with Crowell’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will not be a funeral service or visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
