January 14, 1933 – June 23, 2024
Colombe passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024 at the age of 91. Colombe will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her four children Jacques, Carolyne, Viviane and Joanne (Todd Pilon). She was mémère of Josée, Rachelle (Daniel Rainville) Ashley (James Harding) Trevor (predeceased) Connor, Emily (Adam Verzeroli) Erin (Austin Hodkinson) Arianne, Maxine. Great grandmother to Shentel, Katarina, Janelle, Dominic, Huxley.
She was one of nine children, raised by her loving hard-working parents Dea and Eva Lapalme. All her life, Colombe would tell stories about the farm in St. Charles.
Colombe married Eugène Lapointe in 1953. With their four children, they lived the good life and instilled an unshakeable sense of family. Gatherings at holiday time were no-miss events. But the greatest family bond for the Lapointes were the cherished memories of time spent together at camp at the French River. Many stories have, and will continue, to be told about the good times, food, music and dancing at the French.
Colombe was blessed with a beautiful voice and she sang for the church choir as a child and well into her late 80s. Her family smiled when Colombe, at 86, would say the choir had visited a nursing home that day where they “sang for the old people.”
Her children extend sincere gratitude for the care their mother received by the staff at St Gabriel Villa. Special thanks goes out to Marlene, Rachel, Lucille, Jamie and Lynn.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Simple Wishes. A small ceremony for family and friends will take place at a later time.
As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society Sudbury.
