Collette Strange Obituary
With humble acceptance of God‘s will we announce the passing of Collette Strange on December 27, 2024.
She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and a dear friend to many.
Leaving to mourn are her children Michelle and husband Freddie, their children, Matthew and wife Laura, great grandchildren, Ryder and Raealle. Adam and Morgan, great grandchild Layla. Samantha and great grandchild Lily. Stephen and wife Lisa, grandchild Nick. Jackie and partner George. Jennifer and partner Tom, grandchild Raina. She is also survived by her brothers Roy, Larry and Tom. She will be reunited in heaven with her parents, Stella and Laurie, her baby sister, Betty and her brothers Bert and Bill.
Born August 8, 1935, Collette lived a long and passionate life. Kindness and giving to others were just a couple of the gracious qualities she possessed and will be remembered for. And of course, her chocolate chip cookies….she’s probably in heaven whipping up a batch right now! She was a strong, fun-loving gal with a unique sense of humour. Collette loved to sing along to her favourite hymns, but also throw in a little Mario Lanza once in a while, she loved a good tenor! Collette could walk for miles and loved riding her big pink bike that she carted Jennifer (her baby) around in. She will be greatly missed by many and we will hold her in our hearts forever.
Her children wish to offer sincere thanks and gratitude to all the wonderful staff and caregivers at East 2A and 4 South West.
Viewing will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl on Thursday, January 2nd from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM, with a Service the following day, Friday, January 3rd @ 11 AM from Barrett’s Mount Pearl Chapel. Burial will take place after service at The Salvation Army Cemetery on Blackmarsh Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family request any donations can be made to the Salvation Army.
