Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Clifford Thomas Short announce his peaceful passing on Sunday, March 10th, 2024 at the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 73 years. Born in Pasadena, NL Clifford was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (nee Carter) Short. He was also predeceased by his sisters, Susan (James) Carter, Nora (Jack) Carter, Lillian (Earnest) Tapp, Rebecca Brown, Christine (Johnny) McDougall; Father and Mother in-law, John Thomas and Annie Mable (nee Pearce) Osmond; brother in-law’s, Norman Putt, Clarence Corceet; brother’s and sister’s in-law, Harold (Shirley), Albert (Vera), Gerald, George Osmond, Issac Patey, Susan (Harvey) Parsons, Alice (George) Tapp, and Caroline (Mannie) Ingram.
Cliff will be forever missed and remembered by his loving wife of 52 years, Margaret Yvonne (nee Osmond); his sons, Jeffrey (Carmelita) and Clifton; his grandchildren, April, Kerrie (Jarrid), Nicholas and Danika. He will also be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters, Hubert (Hilda), Jerry (Daisy), Garry (Betty) Sirley, Ella, and Harold Brown; brothers and sisters in-law, Rachel (Walter) Osmond, Nora (Alex) Patey, Una Osmond, and Elias (Bernice) Osmond; plus a very large circle of family and friends.
The family will be forever thankful and appreciative of the doctors, nurses and staff at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre. The care and kindness given to Clifford over the years will be forever remembered by his family. Especially to Dr. David Thomas for all his compassion and understanding.
In keeping with Clifford’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 14th, 2024 from 2-4 pm and 7-9pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques, NL. Donations in Cliffords’s memory can be made to the Family.
