Passed away peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2024 at the age of 79 years.
Beloved husband of Esther (Gingrich) Gingrich. Father of Annie and Elmer Sauder of Mount Forest, Edgar and Edna Gingrich of Elmira, Luke and Irene Gingrich of Chesley, Sarah and Leroy Martin of Chesley, Melvin and Ellen Gingrich of Elmira, Emma and Elam Shantz of St. Jacobs, Naomi and Luke Weber of Paisley. Brother of Lydia (Daniel) Brubacher of Holyrood and Elvina (Aden) Bearinger of Elmira. Brother-in-law of Emma Gingrich of Elmira, Katie (Melvin) Bearinger of Mount Forest, Salome (Onias) Frey of Wallenstein, Joseph (Eileen) Gingrich of Holstein, Lucinda (George) Bauman of Kenilworth, John (Irene) Gingrich, Paul (Grace) Gingrich, and James (Vera) Gingrich all of Mount Forest.
Cleason will be missed by 40 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by his parents Seranus and Susannah (Weber) Gingrich, stepmother Lydia (Weber) Gingrich and one grandson.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 1-4 p.m. and on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 1-4 p.m. at the home of Edgar Gingrich, 4198 Arthur St. N., Elmira.
A family service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 9 a.m. then to North Woolwich Mennonite Meeting House for burial and public service.
