Clayton Edward Macdonald passed away unexpectedly on August 20th, 2023, at the young age of 28. His family and friends are shocked and deeply saddened by Clayton’s passing.
Clayton was born to Sharon and Jim Coutts on March 1st, 1995, in Lethbridge, AB. From there the family moved to Outlook, SK where he completed kindergarten. Soon afterwards, the family settled in Elkford, BC where Clayton grew up and completed his schooling.
Clayton’s sweet disposition as a child gave him the nickname “Mouse”; sweet, quiet, very active and caring. Clayton was athletic and enjoyed being in the bush.
Following high school, Clayton’s Uncle Dale gave him his start at pipelining, and he continued working in various areas until eventually settling in Hope, BC. Clayton also worked in landscape for two seasons, creating beautiful new areas in the Edmonton area. He was not a fan of school, but when he worked, he did an excellent job, always giving 100% attention to any task set his way.
Clayton’s hardworking ethic and his caring disposition was first and foremost in his life. People lucky enough to be loved by Clayton knew he loved deeply. Always willing to give the shirt off his back, he often put the needs of others before himself. Clayton had demons that he fought for years, yet even through this, he always put others first. If Clayton hugged you, you knew you were hugged! Strong and heartfelt.
Clayton had a passion for everything active and outdoors and had no fear of trying new adventures! He was able to experience Thailand with his good friend Tino, Mexico with his cousin Justin, and looked forward to seeing more of the world with whoever was up for the adventure.
Clayton was not only athletic, but also artistic, He created beautiful drawings which lead to his love of tattoos, for which he was easily recognized. He enjoyed live music, especially heavy metal, and rock bands.
With strong core values, Clayton refused to change who he was or do wrong just to fit in. He remained true to himself and never wavered on his principles and ideals.
Clayton would want everyone to live life to the fullest and not hold back from any experience, regardless of how challenging it may be.
Clayton was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his life-long best friend Dylan Macdonald, and his Uncle Bob.
Clayton is survived by his parents, mother Sharon Coutts, father Jim (Penny) Coutts, older brother Travis Coutts, younger sister Jessie (Keeley) Coutts, Uncle Dale Repchinsky, Aunty Carol (Philip) Weiler, Uncle Jeff Repchinsky, Aunty Michelle Covey, Uncle Ken Coutts, Aunty Betty Coutts, and Aunty Norma (Dennis) Meyers & many loving cousins and friends from all journeys of life. Clayton is also survived by his best companion, his dog Maya.
