It is with deep felt sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother and friend on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the age of 97 years.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Anne; his sisters and brothers Audrey, Chesley, Olga and William.
Left to celebrate his life, his adored children: Sandra (John Farrell) Fitzpatrick and Glenn Kendall; his grandchildren: Deanna (Francis) Neary and Joseph (Erin) Fitzpatrick; precious great grandchildren: Jessica and Cole Neary and Ella Fitzpatrick; brother Harold (Ruby) Kennell; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Hillcrest Estates for your support, kindness and friendship shown to Clarence during his time there. Thank you to the Palliative Care team at the Miller Centre for their compassionate care.
Clarence was a gentle and caring man who will be remembered for the deep love he had for his family. He was precious beyond words. He was a selfless soul who gave of himself endlessly, especially to his beautiful wife Anne whom he cared for during her final years.
His family would often say that Clarence was still a teenager right up to his last years. With a skip in his step, he loved to share a joke with others and loved to dance especially at the Hillcrest dances. He was always cheerful and had a smile on his face.
Clarence’s deep love for his son Glenn guided him through the challenges that they faced.
We will always hold our memories close, and the love we shared together even closer. We will forever cherish our time with Clarence and give thanks for the precious gift of love we had in our lives. Our family’s love is everlasting!
At Clarence’s request cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will take place on Monday, August 26th, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Barrett’s Mount Pearl Chapel, 73 Commonwealth Avenue. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
