It is with great sadness we announce the
passing of Clarence «Dick» Ensley
Lowe, 91, of Amherst, on Friday, February 10, 2023 in
the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, with his loving family by
his side.
Born in Amherst, NS, he was a son of the
late Basil and Marie (Langille) Lowe.
Dick owned and operated JS Wood LTD for
19 years.
He enjoyed old-time music, playing the
piano and his accordion, traveling with his wife and camping with his
friends.
Dick will be dearly missed by his loving
wife of 68 years, Martha (Goodwin) Lowe; his daughters, Deborah
(Brian) Shipley and Nancy (Dale) Prystenski; his son, Stephen (Janet)
Lowe; four grandchildren, Sacha (Chuck) Siddall-Bickford, Melissa
Siddall, Meredith (Chris) Lowe, and Madison Prystenski; six great
grandchildren; his sister, Eileen (Ron) Halliday; sister-in-law,
Phyllis Lowe, and his son-in-law, Jerry McClellan, as well as many
nieces and nephews.
Sadly, Dick was joined by his daughter
Sherry McClellan the day after his passing.
Besides his parents, Dick was
predeceased by his brother Art Lowe and his sister Mary
Gagnon.
The family wishes to extend their
deepest gratitude to the staff of the Cumberland Regional Health Care
Centre for their compassion and support.
Arrangements are under the care and
direction of Jones Family Funeral
Centre, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS,
(902-667-8777). Following Dick’s wishes cremation has taken place and
there will be no services at this time.
Donations in memory of Dick may be made
to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Lorneville United Church
or a charity of the Donor’s Choice.
