SAMSON, Marie Helen Claire, Arichat
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Helen Claire Samson, of Arichat that occurred at her residence in St. Anne’s Centre in Arichat on December 19th, 2023. Born December 10th, 1953 in Petit de Grat, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Alfreda (Boudreau) Landry.
Claire was a caregiver throughout her entire adult life, having taken care of her parents, her aunt and uncle, her daughter, and her grandchildren. For many years, she was a member of the C.W.L. and taught religion classes to young people in the community. She worked hard all of her life as a stay-at-home mom before deciding to attend St.F.X university to pursue her Bachelor of Arts and Education degrees. This led to a teaching career during which she helped shape the educational lives of many local children.
Claire is survived by her son Joey Samson (Krista), Arichat, as well as her grandchildren Rafe, Emily, Ben, and Wyatt, who were her pride and joy.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her devoted husband Robert Joseph Samson (Bobby), and loving daughter Jolene.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Anne’s Center for the care they provided to Claire.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 27th, 2023 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat.
A celebration of life will be held in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat on Thursday, December 28th at 11am with Rev. John DeCoste officiating. Burial to follow in Our Lady of Assumption Parish Cemetery in Arichat. A reception will be held in Our Lady of Assumption Parish Hall in Arichat, following the burial.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Anne’s Centre in Arichat.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd., Arichat.
