It is with heavy hearts the family of Christopher Pirie announce his
passing into the Kingdom of God on 02 Aug 2024, after a brave battle
with cancer.
Chris was loved by everyone who knew him and will be missed and
remembered for his caring and helpful nature. Family was everything to
Chris. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, sons, step-children and
grand-children.
One of his greatest talents was playing drums. He bought his first set
of drums as a youngster with his hard-earned money on a layaway plan
at a local department store. His most recent involvement was with a
gospel band, “Never Too Late.” The “boys” were
his brothers and he loved them dearly. Playing and practicing was his
happy place. He was lucky enough to play his final two gigs, last
weekend. Mitch, Scott, Charles and Todd greatly supported Chris over
the past 15 years.
Chris became a nurse later in his career, which displayed his love for
people and helping those in need. In most recent years, he was
employed at Eastern College teaching the Personal Support Worker
course. He loved his students and went above and beyond in his
teaching. He wanted to ensure that every student would have a
successful career. He taught them to show empathy and professionalism
to the people in their care.
Chris was an only child, predeceased by his mom Margaret Malm and his
father Theodore Pirie.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 10 years Melody, who he called the
love of his life. His two sons; Gabriel (Monica) and Tyberius (Amber).
He was a father figure to his step-children Angela (Jesse), Nick and
Karaleigh. Chris thought the world of his grandchildren Ryleigh,
Desmond and Emery.
A celebration of life service will be held at Centreville Baptist
Church on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 1 pm, officiated by Pastor Bob
McNutt who held a special place in Chris’ heart. Refreshments
will be at the church immediately after the service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover, NB.
