A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 9, Coleman (7831 – 17 Ave., Coleman, AB) on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Coleman Legion (PO Box 448 Coleman, AB T0K 0M0), the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (www.heartandstroke.com), or by STARS (www.stars.ca). It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Christopher Arnold Snider on March 3, 2023, at the age of 65.
Chris was born on July 9, 1957 in Edmonton, AB to loving parents, Duke and Ann Snider. They moved their family to the Crowsnest Pass. AB in 1973, and Chris remained an active and well-known member of the community for his entire life. As a young teenager, he joined the Air Cadet League of Canada where he learned discipline, leadership and citizenship. These traits, and his commitment to service, remained with him always and he demonstrated them in many ways; especially as a proud member and long-time Executive member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 9, Coleman.
Chris was a proud, hard-working employee of the Coleman 7-Eleven kitchen team for over 23 years. He was famous far and wide for his amazing chicken wings, especially for his secret fire hot and spicy wings! We will never know the true recipe of Chris’ wings, but we believe that the secret to his «talk of the town» chicken was Chris using a pinch of his genuine, kind soul.
Chris loved sports! He was a Boston Bruins fan to the core, a true-blue Toronto Blue Jays fan, and he also enjoyed cheering on the Edmonton Eskimos. More than anything, however, Chris loved his family and friends. All those who had the privilege to know our dear Chris were touched by his kind, warm heart. He will be missed beyond words.
Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life are his siblings, Jo-Ann (Keith), Sandy (Barry), Robert (Doris), Karen, Melody (Russel), Ken (Teresa-Jane) and Robin (Les); many nieces and nephews; a gaggle of great-nieces and great-nephews; and countless friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ann and Duke; his sister, Heather; his brother-in-law, Raymond; his great-nephew, Jack; and his great-niece, Madison.
