Christal Lynn Olson – 44, Bible Hill, passed away
peacefully, with her loving husband at her side, on Sunday morning,
December 3, 2023, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro,
following a lengthy illness. Born in Victoria, British Columbia, she
was a daughter of the late Jack and Barbara (Young)
Hollinger.
Christal worked for over five years at Avery’s Farm
Market in Bible Hill where she was well-liked by colleagues and
customers. She was a likeable person who got along with everyone, was
full of energy, and being a very creative person, she enjoyed
crafting.
She was a loving mother and her daughters came first in her
life; without a doubt, they always knew how much she loved them and
she enjoyed the special times they shared together, especially when
baking and cooking. Although Christal liked being close to home, she
and John enjoyed day or weekend trips travelling around Nova Scotia.
She had a soft spot in her heart for animals, and she will be missed
by her dogs, Titan, Luna and Oliver and her cats, Rocky, Niko and
Dom.
Christal is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, John;
children, Kayla Olson (Ryan Pye), Ashley Olson, Emma Olson, all of
Bible Hill; siblings, Dwain (Dulce) Hollinger, British Columbia; Tanya
(Jon) Aylward, Alberta; two nieces; two nephews; several aunts, uncles
and cousins; parents-in-law, Margaret (Derek) Gaetz, North River.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her father-in-law,
Barrie Olson.
Special thanks are extended to Dr. David Henderson and all
the staff in the Palliative Care Unit (CEHHC) and to Dr. Scott and
Jessica and the Cancer Clinic. If so desired, donations in
Christal’s memory to Canadian Cancer Society are
welcomed.
