Peacefully, in the evening on Saturday June 29 at the age of 69. Dear son of the late John and Elizabeth Psathas of Greece, USA and Canada. Beloved brother of Helen Psathas, Toronto and Agnes Psathas, Switzerland. Brother-in- law to the late Peter Herbert, Toronto and to Thanassis Papadopoulos, Switzerland. Cherished uncle of Elizabeth, Alexandra and Christiana Herbert, Toronto and Yiannis and Sophia Papadopoulos, Switzerland. Loved and respected friend of so many in Canada, US and Greece.
Chris was born on August 10, 1954 in St. Louis Missouri, USA. His parents immigrated to Canada when he was a young boy and he attended Dougall Avenue Primary School and Patterson High School in Windsor. Chris was an altar boy at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church. He was an A student, a baseball and basketball player and avid golfer. He was a sports fan throughout his life and mostly enjoyed watching sports and golfing with his close friends – his ‘brothers’.
Chris joined the US Air Force early in his career where he studied languages and was stationed in California, Texas and Greece in active intelligence duty. Later in life he pursued gastronomy and was a proud owner of successful restaurants in Toronto. He traveled to many countries during his life but spent his later years in Windsor caring diligently for his aging parents.
Everyone who knew Chris admired his warm personality and vast knowledge of history, geography and politics. He was a light hearted soul with a beautiful smile, who made many laugh with his quick wit. He will be sorely missed and his memory will be eternal.

Visitation Thursday July 4, 2024 from 3-5 pm & 7-9 pm Families First Funeral Home, 3260 Dougall Ave. (519-969-5841). Thrice Holy Hymn Service Thursday at 7:30 pm. Funeral Service Friday July 5th at 10:30 am at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, 3052 Walker Rd, Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
