It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cheryl Anne King, of Moosomin, Saskatchewan, on November 20, 2024, at the age of 64. Cheryl was the eldest of five children born to Elaine and George King of Moosomin.
Throughout her life, Cheryl faced many challenges, but for those who took the time to truly know her, she was a deeply caring person with a heart of gold. She was always quick to lend a helping hand and offer support to those around her. Cheryl was the ultimate caregiver and advocate for those in her care. She was happiest when she had a purpose, and her greatest joy came from knowing she made a difference in the lives of others.
Cheryl had a passion for gardening and could often be found in her happy place, tending to her vegetables and flowers. Every February, she would start her plants with great anticipation for the growing season ahead. The bounty from her hard work—pureed pumpkin, peas, carrots, tomato sauce, rhubarb, raspberries, saskatoons—was shared generously with family and friends. She also enjoyed making jams, preserves, and other homemade treats to give away.
In addition to her gardening skills, Cheryl had a remarkable talent for fixing just about anything with whatever materials she had on hand. She loved taking on remodeling projects in the homes she purchased, whether it was drywalling, painting, or wallpapering, always turning each space into a warm and welcoming home. Cheryl also enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, sewing, knitting, and crafting, often spending her winter months immersed in creative projects that she made with love and gave away as gifts.
Cheryl’s love for children and her pets was evident to all who knew her. She was a special daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin and friend and leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will never be forgotten.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the residents of Centennial Manor and Dr. Van for their kindness and care toward Cheryl. We also deeply appreciate the love, support, and comfort we have received from everyone during this difficult time.
In honour of Cheryl, we ask that you celebrate her memory by doing something kind for someone who could use a little uplifting.
Rest in peace, Cheryl, you will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing you.
Family and close friends will be contacted with information regarding a celebration of Cheryl’s life once arrangements are finalized.
