Obituary
It is with sadness that we, the family of Chesley Edward Winsor, announce his passing at home at the age of 95, into the presence of his Lord and Saviour on January 4th, 2024, at 10:00 am.
Chesley has joined his beloved wife Agnes but has left behind his loving family. The children left to mourn his absence and celebrate his life and legacy are Louise (Barry Collins), David, Jane (Guy Penney), Laurie (Marilyn Farewell), and Sharon (Willard Radford). Also missing him are his grandchildren: Matthew, Jonathan (Katelyn), Lauren, Jessica, Sarah, Laura (Thomas), Joshua (Allison), Micah, Aaron (Priya), Timothy (Melissa), Rodney (Mercy), Cara (Leon), Megan (Rolando), Emma (Johnroy), Jesse, Beth and Rose. His great-grandchildren Joel, Madison, Josiah, Avalon, Arden, Zion, Charlotte, Adelyn, Henry, Riley, Barbara, and Luka will hear many stories of great-Poppy’s life.
The facts of an obituary can never tell the whole story of a life well lived. Chesley was a mentor, a moose hunter, a fisherman, a negotiator, a teacher, a board member, a business owner, a life-long learner, a traveler, a builder, a giver. He cared about people, had a curious mind, loved tricky riddles, read voraciously, studied the Bible, loved to nap, enjoyed sunbathing, floating on his back in the ocean, messily eating lobster and crab, and a nice piece of apple pie. He was a professional, a hard worker, a clear thinker, an advisor, an avid note-taker, and a lover and guardian of the English language. He was the best father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to those who loved him. And he was the most beloved husband of Agnes for 55 years. He loved his family, and they never doubted that he loved them.
The family will be receiving family and friends at Parsons Funeral Home 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL, on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024, from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
The funeral service will be held at First Pentecostal Church, Corner Brook on Wednesday, January 10th, 2024, at 1; 00 pm, with the interment to follow at the family plot at Mt. Patricia Cemetery, in Corner Brook, NL.
