It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Cheng Huy Taing on December 13, 2024, at Berkshire Long Term Care Home. Beloved husband of Ngop Taing for over 62 years, Cheng Huy was the proud father of Ngy Taing (Y Gau), Ty Taing (Moly), Eng Eak (Howard), Sue Latour (Aaron), Yong Taing (Valerie), and the late Heing Taing. He was a devoted brother to Khapheng Khao, Khahui Taing, and Soy Muoy Taing. He will be dearly missed by his 9 grandchildren: Andrew, Lily, Kimberly, Ada, William, Mary, Brooke, Connor, and Emily, as well as by his countless nieces and nephews.
Born on June 1,1940, in Cambodia, Cheng Huy’s life was a testament to courage and determination. In 1980, he made the choice to immigrate to Canada with nothing but the dream of a better life for him and his family. Settling in Leamington, Ontario, Cheng Huy worked tirelessly to build a new future for his family. As a businessman and machinist, he established the successful «Leamington Auto Electric,» earning respect in the community through his hard work and dedication.
Cheng Huy will be fondly remembered for his love of fishing, spirited card games, and shared laughter at family parties. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating his remarkable life and honoring the love and joy he shared with so many people.
Memorial visitation will take place at Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell Street, Leamington, ON 519-326-2631, on Wednesday, December 18th from 3 pm – 5 pm and 7 pm – 9 pm. Visitation will continue at Reid Funeral Home on Thursday, December 19th from 9 am until the funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Erie Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
