It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend on December 24, 2024 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, Charlotte Mary Leyte, age 78 years.
Leaving to mourn, her devoted daughters Linda (Kevin) Penney, Verna Burry- deceased (Donald) and her loving son Jason (Paula Williams) Leyte; the light of her life, grandchildren Kailey and Alicia Penney; Brandon (deceased), Kevin (deceased) and Nathan Burry; great granddaughter Haley and Emma Burry; her partner Bernard Cluett; sisters Beatrice, Janet, Dulcie and Rita (deceased) and her brothers Melvin, Thomas, Lindsay (deceased), Martin (deceased), and Hubert (deceased) and many other family members and friends.
Charlotte had a big personality. She loved to make people laugh, she was happy, thoughtful, and selfless. She loved cooking, baking and cleaning. She loved having company, enjoying friendship and conversation.
Charlotte enjoyed fishing, singing, and the accordion. She could be found at any get together playing a tune on the accordion for all to enjoy.
We will treasure our memories of Charlotte.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Charlotte’s life will be held in Roger’s Cove, Gander Bay at a later date.
