Charlene Dawn (Ellis) Nauss – 56, passed away peacefully on
Saturday, March 2, 2024, with her family by her side. Raised in North
River, Char was an adherent of North River United Church, where she
attended and taught Sunday school for many years, as well as being a
past member and leader with Girl Guides of Canada. Char’s
number one priority was her family, and this reflected in her home and
work life. For a number of years, she worked with her father, in
addition to partnering with her husband in multiple successful
businesses.
Above all, Char claimed that her greatest accomplishments
were her children, Jillian and Nick. Endlessly selfless, she was
always willing to volunteer in their school and extracurricular
activities, and enjoyed every minute of it. Char was a proud momma and
never failed to share their latest achievements and pursuits; they
were her pride and joys; her world revolved around
them.
In addition to her children, Char will be greatly missed by
her husband of 33 years, Randy Nauss; parents, Brian and Joan Ellis;
sisters, Gina (Duncan) MacDonald and Angela (Matt) Mills; special
aunt, Evelyn (Eric) Weaver; special uncle, Raymond Ellis; several
other aunts, uncles and cousins. Char loved all of her nieces and
nephews, and will be especially missed by Sarah, Alec, Samantha,
Alyssa and Madilyn.
She was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Grace Nauss;
grandparents, Iva and Percy Ellis and Isabel and Laurie Delaney;
beloved pets, Smokey and Stew.
Char was always appreciative and grateful for her healthcare
professionals. Her family would like to especially extend their thanks
to Dr. Don Rowe and the staff of the Medical Day Unit at Colchester
East Hants Health Centre for their compassionate care.
At her request, there will be no funeral service.
A celebration of Char’s life will be held from
11 a.m., – 1 p.m., Saturday, August 24, 2024, at North River Fire
Hall, 74 Truro Road, North River. In lieu of flowers,
donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Tributes, words of
