RIZZUTO, Cesare – Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday May 21st, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Caterina (nee Monardo) who passed away on July 27th, 1977. Cherished father to Maria and her husband Domenic Alessandria. Loving Uncle to many nieces and nephews. A very special thank you to nieces, Rosa and Maria, and their families for their compassionate care during this challenging time. Cesare will be remembered with fondness by many family and friends. Predeceased by his siblings, Rosa, Girolama, Vincenzo, Bruno, Maria, Vittoria and Domenico.
Cesare was an attentive father who worked very hard for his family, coming to Canada in 1956 to ensure a better future. He was an avid gardener and hunter.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank the Nurses, Doctors and PSWs for their excellent care and their kindness.
Visitation will be at the Cardinal Funeral Home, 366 Bathurst Street, Toronto (416) 603-1444 from 3pm until 9pm on Friday May 26th, 2023 with parish prayers being offered at 4pm. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 72 Mansfield Ave., Toronto M6J 2B2 at 11am followed by entombment at Prospect Cemetery Mausoleum. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Institute for The Blind, or Mount Sinai Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family.
