Balm, Cecilia «Lilah»:
Passed away peacefully at Freeport Hospital on Tuesday, August 13th, 2024, at the age of 83. Reunited with her beloved husband of over 58 years, Edwin Balm (2020). Loving mother of Parrish, Paige (late John, 2013) Harrison, Carlton (Kim Stoner) and Cheryl Balm (Stefan Kok). Proud and doting grandmother of Alexie, Chad, and Leah Harrison and George and Henry Balm. Survived by her sister Flory and siblings-in-law Yvonne, Sheila (Claude), and Mary. Fondly remembered by her many loving nieces, nephews and their families overseas.
Lilah’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Langridge and Dr. Chaudhry, Nurse Bobbi and the staff members of Grand River Hospital and Freeport Hospital as well as the many family, friends and community members who generously supported and compassionately cared for her.
Lilah’s family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 21st 2024 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony Daniel Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, August 22nd at 11:00 AM., with a reception to follow.
All who are unable to attend the Mass are welcome to join the Balm Family virtually by visiting www.henrywalser.com/live-streaming. Cremation will take place and Lilah will be to laid rest with her husband Edwin at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or the The Lung Association – Central Ontario would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
